What type of brush should I use with M-Pro7 Copper Remover?
Types of bore brushes in order of effectiveness on copper fouling.
#1 Stainless Steel Bore Brush: This is the most aggressive type of brush on copper fouling and works great with M-Pro7 Gun Cleaner and M-Pro7 Copper Remover **.
#2 Bronze Bore Brush: Using a metal brush is more effective in removing copper fouling. Unfortunately, bronze contains copper and tin so ammonia-based copper solvents can significantly reduce the lifespan a bronze brush. M-Pro7 Copper Remover affects and removes copper using a different type of chemistry; therefore dissolving bronze brushes more slowly. Rinsing the brush after every use also helps prolong the brush life.
#3 M-Pro7 BoreSnake: The M-Pro7 BoreSnake contains 2 embedded bronze brushes which can be used for copper removal. M-Pro7 Copper Remover degrades bronze brushes more slowly than traditional ammonia-based solvents.
#4 Nylon Bore Brush: Does not work well for removing copper fouling.
**NOTE: There are some who believe a stainless steel brush will scratch the bore. The stainless steel used in brush extrusion is much softer than bore steel. We have found no evidence that stainless steel brushes damage bores when used properly.
